Velenosi / Villa Angela

The biodiversity of a territory can often enjoy the support of its cultural roots, and Italy is certainly one of the richest countries in terms of art, culture and ancient beauty

Velenosi / Villa Angela

For
the
Villa
Angela
project,
we
therefore
chose
to
connect
the
world
of
Italian
wine
to
its
origins
by
finding
the
focus
in
the
classical
canons
of
Canova’s
masterpieces.
We
were
particularly
inspired
by
the
Venus
sculpture,
to
depict
three
different
ancient
female
silhouettes
on
the
label,
die-cut
on
white
paper
with
a
fibrous
pulp
and
textured
appearance.

The
templates,
applied
on
natural
paper
used
as
a
background,
were
then
divided
into
the
three
cadastral
plots
of
the
winery’s
vineyards.
After
overcoming
the
extreme
difficulty
of
rigorously
registering
the
two
layers
with
the
cutting
die,
and
the
subsequent
steps
of
debossing
and
embellishing,
the
result
is
a
small
masterpiece
of
printing
techniques
and
ancient
beauty,
which
fits
in
well
with
the
history
of
wine
made
in
Italy.
