Palmento Costanzo / Prefillossera

Palmento Costanzo / Prefillossera

Palmento Costanzo’s Prefillossera is a special wine that sums up the extraordinary history of the ungrafted vines that resisted the phylloxera that reached Italy in the mid-19th century.

As
we
walked
through
the
vineyards
during
a
visit
to
the
winery
we
noticed
that
at
its
highest
point,
where
the
centuries-old
vines
are
grown,
the
soil
was
extremely
dusty
and
a
deep
brown
colour,
perfect
for
its
use
as
a
natural
pigment
in
line
with
the
first
labels
we
made
for
them
in
2014
with
the
use,
for
the
first
time
ever,
of
textured
pigments
on
adhesive
paper.

An
innovation
that
still
represents
the
stylistic
language
of
the
Palmento
Costanzo
winery
throughout
the
world,
identifying
the
different
wine
selections
with
the
various
chromatic
compositions
of
the
soil.
The
label
is
also
formed
by
overlapping
several
papers,
divided
into
three
sections
where,
in
the
upper
part,
the
chestnut
poles,
typically
used
for
Etna’s
saplings,
are
represented
in
debossing.
