Di Sipio / Aerei

The inspiration for this project created for the Di Sipio winery in Abruzzo was drawn from the founder Nicola di Sipio’s love of flight and the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio, who used to visit this estate in his youth towards the end of the 19th century.

From this correlation we created the packaging printed on two layers, one made of cotton paper and the other of wood. The silhouette of the aircraft is based on the original shape of Gabriele D’Annunzio’s famous wooden plane that he used to fly over Vienna on 9 August 1918, also known as the “daring flight”. The flight is imagined to be occurring over the current estate; in fact, glimpses of the vineyard seen from above were depicted to complete the outline of the aircraft, as if in flight.
